Statement on Liverpool Accommodation BID – 30/05/25

Regarding the new Liverpool Accommodation BID Arrangements which come into effect on 1st June 2025, following a successful alteration ballot declaration on 24^th April, 2025.

We have been notified that the declaration has been challenged, and that the matter has been referred to the Secretary of State.

In the meantime, we want to reassure accommodation providers that things must proceed as they normally would. The BID Arrangements will come into effect as planned on Sunday 1^st June, 2025 and, if your intention was to make use of the Visitor Charge mechanism, there is no reason why you should not do so simultaneously.

To confirm, we have both taken independent advice and clarified the position with the local authority and the Ministry. All have confirmed that the guidance we are providing is correct in the circumstances and consistent with both the BID Regulations and government guidance.
