Akasya – Lunch Offer and Christmas rush comes early
We are now well into Autumn and Summer seems a long way off. In the hospitality sector in Liverpool, which was hit so hard during the start of the covid-19 pandemic, the talk now turns to Christmas!
Located in the former home of noted designer boutique Giancarlo Ricci, Akasya’s prominent location on Bold Street has seen it become a welcome addition to one of the city’s best food and drink locations.
Owner, Yunus Emre Ugur, said:
“Since opening especially popular has been the Sunday to Friday 2 courses for £11.95* from midday until 5pm. This has been a huge driver for the business and a great way for new customers to be introduced to us here at Akasya. Being No1 for so long after being open for just 3 months has also helped us, as customers love our authentic dishes.
“Set over two floors, with 200 covers, Akasya has created a bustling and vibrant theme, based around contemporary Turkish cuisine, with a traditional grill, tasty baklava menu and laid-back cocktails to complete the restaurant’s authentic experience. Dishes range from lamb chops and adana made on the charcoal grill to specials such as beyti and guvec.”
Akasya, a brand-new concept Turkish restaurant, which has been the official number 1 restaurant on TripAdvisor for Liverpool’s for nearly a month now have seen their recent rating success coupled with the lack of any real Christmas in 2020, see a huge spike in Christmas bookings.
Last December saw a second lockdown end in the early part of the month and the confusing tier system kicked in later in the month. The festive period of Christmas night’s outs, parties and office meals was a non-starter. This has now rolled into 2021 and this Christmas already looks like being one of the busiest of recent years.
Yunus added:
“The last 18 months have been unprecedented and to open a large restaurant just after the first lockdown ended in June has been hard work. We have since the start of September seen a huge spike in bookings for Christmas. Some days are already booked up as people look to make up for the lack of any real celebration over the last year or so.”
The restaurant is open from 12-11pm Monday through Sunday. Akasya are also still recruiting please email Akasyarestaurant1@hotmail.com for more job information.
