As part of our BID Safety Partnership, Liverpool BID Company funds two full-time Merseyside Police Officers, who provide our BID Levy Payers with a direct response to non-emergency enquiries about safety, anti-social behaviour and security issues 7 days a week.

We asked a member of staff at Forbidden Planet to tell us their experience with the support and assistance they have received from our BID Police Team recently.

How does the BID Police Team benefit your business?

Working with the BID police officers PC Dave and Darren has been tremendously successful with helping alleviate the impact of shoplifting on our business. Along with regular in store visits, both Dave and Darren keep in consistent contact with us, and will always be at the end of a phone call if we need their help! If we report an unidentified suspect on DISC that they have an ID for, they will give us those details making it easier to prosecute, and we have had several successful prosecutions on prolific offenders due to information Dave and Darren have given us.

They will also share advice on how to deal with particular offenders when they come into the store, making us safer. No job is too small and they carry out their duties at the highest standard regardless of the size of the theft. They keep us informed of ongoing cases, and what is happening with our regular offenders, even if they have not targeted our business recently, as well as sharing other news about what is going on in the city as a whole.
