Boney M will headline this year’s Pride in Liverpool festival, with a performance on the Barclays Main Stage at the city’s Pier Head on Saturday 30th July.

Disco legends are replacing Samantha Mumba, who now can not perform. They’ll be playing their best crowd pleasers, with ‘Daddy Cool’, ‘Rivers of Babylon’ and ‘Rasputin’.

The Pier Head site for Pride in Liverpool will be open from 12noon and its stage, which has been programmed by Sound City, will spring to life from 1pm, as the city’s March With Pride arrives at the festival site following its journey through the city from St George’s Plateau.

The stage will be hosted throughout the day by Jordan Lee from Radio City & Hits Radio Pride and Jay Hynd from The Guide – both media partners to LCR Pride Foundation and the city’s annual Pride festival.

Andi Herring, CEO and Co-founder of LCR Pride Foundation – the LGBT+ charity behind Pride in Liverpool and the annual March With Pride – said:

“While we are disappointed that Samantha Mumba will now not be able to join us at Pride in Liverpool, as we know many other people planning to attend the festival will be, we are excited to be welcoming Boney M. to the Barclays Main Stage.

“To secure such a fantastic act when our festival is so close has been no mean feat and we’re incredibly grateful to the LCR Pride Foundation team and our city partners, who have worked relentlessly to ensure we have a brilliant headliner for Pride in Liverpool’s return.”

March muster will begin from 10:30am on Saturday 30th July, with the march starting at 12 noon from St George’s Plateau. The march route and further information about the event will be announced in the coming days.
