The Municipal Hotel & Spa MGallery – Liverpool has unveiled its Christmas offerings, and it’s promising a truly magical experience. The landmark hotel will be transformed into a grotto of sparkling grandeur, inviting visitors to three unique dining experiences with a winter twist.

Friends and colleagues can catch up over an indulgent afternoon tea in the charming Botanic Tearoom, before heading to Palm Court – the perfect backdrop for holiday cocktail receptions. Alternatively, brasserie-style restaurant Seaforth will host a delightful seasonal menu, featuring a mix of festive elegance and culinary expertise.

In the spirit of sharing, the beautiful Weightman Suite is ideal for intimate dinners with friends and family, providing a space for quieter functions and celebrations. For guests looking to treat themselves this festive season, The Spa at The Municipal Hotel Liverpool is providing bespoke treatments to rejuvenate the body, mind and soul during the Christmas period.

Botanic Festive Afternoon Tea

From 24th November, guests can celebrate the season with an enchanting Festive Afternoon Tea in the elegant Botanic Tearoom, complemented with The Municipal’s collection of freshly brewed teas, or elevate the occasion with a glass of champagne, or a signature festive cocktail. Over the Christmas period, the Tearoom will be lit like a Christmas tree, making it the perfect backdrop to a festive day out.

The Botanic Festive Afternoon Tea is a merry take on traditional afternoon tea with seasonal sandwich fillings of Turkey and Pork Stuffing, Smoked Salmon and Crème Cheese and Cranberry Sausage Rolls. To satisfy their sweet tooth, guests will be served an array of festive canapes including a Black Cherry Dome, Clementine Cheesecake and freshly baked Mince Pies. All Botanic Tearoom’s scented teas are naturally fragranced with fresh flowers or natural oils to create vivid aromas and timed to perfection using traditional hourglass timers.

Afternoon Tea is available Monday – Friday at £45.00 per person, and Saturday – Sunday at £49.00 per person, with vegetarian options included in the set menu (excludes 25th December).

Seaforth Festive Time to Dine Menu

Step into the warm, elegant ambiance of Seaforth Restaurant this festive season, where tradition meets contemporary luxury. The hotel’s chefs have curated a seasonal menu that captures the essence of the holidays, featuring the finest locally sourced ingredients and festive flavours crafted to perfection.

Whether you’re gathering with family, friends, or colleagues, indulge in a culinary experience that blends classic holiday favourites with innovative twists, all served in the sophisticated surroundings of the hotel’s beautifully adorned restaurant.

The Festive Time to Dine menu showcases an array of seasonal flavours, beginning with warming starters such as the maple roasted parsnip soup with chestnut crumble and locally cured ham hock terrine with fig and cinnamon compote. Mains featured on the menu include a traditional roast breast of local turkey with all the trimmings, an elegant, seared seabass served with a fine herb potato pressing and a delicious vegan option of cranberry and marmalade glazed celeriac with kumquat jus. To finish, guests can indulge in festive sweet treats such as classic Christmas pudding with gingerbread custard, a vodka and wild berry delice, or a rich vegan chocolate delice.

The menu is served 12pm–9pm, Monday to Saturday, from 24 November to 24 December 2025 (excluding Christmas Day), priced at £35 for two courses or £45 for three.

Private dining at The Municipal Hotel

Throughout December the hotel will offer a delicious festive canapé menu in the delicate ambience of the Palm Court Library. Inspired by Liverpool’s vibrant trade history, dishes are priced at 3 for £20.00, or 4 for £25.00 and include Liverpool Gin cured Salmon or Sweetcorn and Sprout Fritters.

For a festive networking event or magical lunch with loved ones, the space also boasts a Bowl Food menu for groups of over 25 people. Guests can select 4 food choices for £45.00 per person, with options including Bacon Bangers & Mash, Brie & Cranberry Arancini and Korean Turkey Tenders plus many more. Food in the Palm Court is available Monday – Sunday, including vegetarian options, and is a dreamy setting for both intimate events and larger gatherings. The more the merrier!

Ring in the New Year in 1920s style with The Municipal’s Great Gatsby Soirée

Friends and families are invited to time travel back to the 1920s to ring in the New Year in style. Hosted in the grand Botanic Room at The Municipal Hotel and Spa Liverpool, guests will be transported to an era of glitz, glamour and sophistication, unlike anything experienced before. Whether you choose to dress to impress or come as you are, everyone is invited to enjoy an evening of indulgent canapés and the alluring atmosphere of the Botanic Room.

The Municipal never fails to deliver a spectacular menu, and this 5-course gala dinner is no exception. Starting off with Oyster Rockefeller, and Poached Shrimps with a Pickled Vegetable Salad, followed by Champagne Sorbet with Raspberry Crisps as a palate cleanser. The main course will be Glazed cured Pork with Celeriac Puree, before finishing with ‘Old Fashion’ Whisky Trifle adorned with edible gold. This spectacular menu paired with a live jazz singer and suitable fashion will provide a truly immersive experience, as the clock counts down to midnight.

Tickets are limited and priced at £110.00 per person, including the 5-course dinner, live entertainment and the promise of an unforgettable evening, from 7:30pm. A £20.00 deposit is required per person, with a non-refundable pre-order and full payment required by 1st December.
