Liverpool BID Company has launched a “Celebrating Castle Street” campaign to shine a spotlight on the amazing businesses and people of Castle Street, following the unfortunate cancellation of the “Celebrating Castle Street” event in August. We’ll be taking a closer look behind the unique shops, restaurants, and individuals that make Castle Street such a vibrant part of the city. Think of it as a behind-the-scenes look at the heart and soul of one of Liverpool’s most loved streets – packed with stories, smiles, and a whole lot of community spirit!

We asked Rebecca from Liverpool Gin Distillery a few questions on their experience working on Castle Street!

Tell us a bit about yourself and how you got started at Liverpool Gin Distillery!

Hi I’m Rebecca, General Manager of Liverpool Gin Distillery. I’ve been working here since we opened in December 2018.
What do you love most about Castle Street & Liverpool?

I love how busy it is, everyone is really friendly and it’s just a really nice place to spend the afternoon in the sun! In general, just the friendliness of the city – it has such a nice atmosphere.
What other businesses would you encourage people to visit?

Bacaro for food is really good and also Rudy’s and the rum bar ‘Black Barrel’ at the other end of Castle Street is great.

If Castle Street was a person – how would you describe it’s personality?

Fun, lively & very friendly!
What’s one of your favourite memories working at Liverpool Gin Distillery?

We’re really proud of winning ‘Pub of the Year’ at Liverpool Tourism Awards and have won Travellers Choice Awards each year since we opened. We’re really lucky to have worked with other key business in the city, we’re the drink sponsor of National Museums Liverpool and we work really closely with the cruise terminal too.
