Over the past decade, our Music Room has done it all. We’ve brought you incredible shows spanning the whole spectrum of musical genres, plus intimate chamber concerts, musical adventures for our youngest audiences and inspiring community music workshops too. We’ve welcomed a vast array of artists, nurtured new talent, and collaborated with partners to present a programme that’s exciting, diverse and truly unique – just like our city.
Now, we’re marking this special occasion with a huge celebration of all the Music Room does. Our Open Day will kick off a fortnight of specially crafted performances, featuring plenty of old friends, beloved local organisations and a whole range of talent from across the city, the UK and the world.
Some of our closest friends and partners will be hosting a series of takeovers, showcasing incredible artists and irresistible music from across the city and around the globe. Milap will be bringing us Music for the Mind and Soul with boundary-breaking guitarist Giuliano Modarelli and renowned tabla player Kousic Sen, while Liverpool Acoustic delivers sets from three exciting local artists – Jessica Dives, She’s In The Trees, and Thom Morecroft. LUMA Creations celebrates the rhythms and traditions of Latin America with a performance from Chilean-Liverpudlian singer-songwriter Saranne Carrasco-Brennan and Liverpudlian jazz guitarist Alex McDowall, a vibrant dance collective and the electrifying drumming ensemble Comparsa La Bomba, before Africa Oyé closes the Music Room programme with show-stopping performances from Satin Beige and Cill.
