dot-art Gallery’s new exhibition Out of the Darkness will be open to the public from Saturday 17 April – Saturday 5 June and will showcase the works of Merseyside based artists Madeleine Pires and Haylea Archer.

As we approach a brighter and more positive future reconnecting with our wonderful city, dot-art Gallery opens its doors for the first time in 2021 with Out of the Darkness, an exhibition exploring the expression of life through art. Out of the Darkness creates an experience that is personal yet part of a collective journey as we transcend the limitations of our thoughts through the medium of paint.

Liverpool based artist Madeleine Pires creates visual manifestations of the power of the human spirit to explore, discover and express the energy and emotion unique to our kind.

Madeleine says:

“My art has been created as a sacrifice-filled process searching for meaning, truth and the source of creativity itself.” In this uncertain time in history, Madeleine’s work created for Out of the Darkness addresses a yearning for more depth and more tangible connection.

As a trained art psychotherapist, Haylea Archer understands the process of art and art-making, from a psychoanalytical, symbolic and metaphorical perspective. Each piece created for Out of the Darkness represents a tentative step from denial to truth.

Haylea says:

“With a therapeutic approach to creating work, my aim is to share a strong emotional connection with others, through an honest passion for painting.”

The exhibition continues until Saturday 5 June.

The dot-art Gallery can be found at 14 Queen Avenue, Castle Street, Liverpool, L2 4TX.

Opening times: Thursday – Saturday, 10am-6pm
