Competent Person in the Workplace Qualification
NaCTSO (National Counter Terrorism Security Office) are looking for participants to take part in the Competent Person in the Workplace qualification pilot.
They are looking for candidates from businesses who have:
- Operational experience – would benefit from upskilling and a knowledge uplift to help you with your strategic decision-making for security.
- Early to mid-stage of their security or security-related role – an opportunity to gain insight and training to enhance overall security practices and counter terrorism-specific activities, including risk assessment and preparedness.
- No previous counter terrorism knowledge or experience is necessary.
- Working in the private sector
This is free development opportunity for businesses to enhance and support their staff’s growth within your organisation to better serve your security needs and objectives.
The pilot will be a face-to-face learning event as part of a small cohort. Training will take place over 5 consecutive days. There is a pre-learning element, to ensure parity amongst learners; however, the time this requires will be dependent on their current level of knowledge. There will also be an assessment following the in-person learning to gauge the understanding attained and the attendee’s capacity to deliver actionable assessments and recommendations.
As this is a pilot, it is not possible to award a formal qualification, however, this is the only NaCTSO-endorsed training product at Level 3 available to the public. For those who attend, there may be an opportunity later to submit an accreditable assessment to gain the formal qualification once it has achieved Ofqual-certification.
