Liverpool City Region residents have an exciting opportunity to kick-start a meaningful career in Health and Social Care, thanks to the Skills Bootcamp programme in partnership with Nugent and The City of Liverpool College.

This intensive three-week course, beginning on Monday, 10 February 2025, is designed to provide participants with the practical knowledge and skills needed to excel in the care sector. Delivered by seasoned professionals, the programme prepares learners to make a genuine difference in the lives of others, with the chance to join Nugent, one of the region’s leading charities, upon completion.

What Is the Skills Bootcamp?

Part of the government’s broader initiative to support adult learning and employment, the Skills Bootcamp in Health and Social Care equips learners with the tools to thrive in the care sector. The course covers key topics such as:

  • Person-centered and inclusive care practices
  • Understanding safeguarding principles
  • Health and Social Care legislation
  • Food hygiene and safety essentials
  • Record keeping and professional documentation

Who Is Eligible?

The Skills Bootcamp is free of charge for eligible adults aged 19 and older residing in the Liverpool City Region. No prior qualifications are required, and applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Be a UK resident for at least three years

Our new Health and Social Care Skills Bootcamp programme is an intensive, 3-week training programme that will fast-track you into a rewarding career with Nugent.

As a registered charity with over 140 years’ experience, Nugent provide specialist support to children, young people, adults and families who are vulnerable and at risk across the North West through schools, care homes, community and social work service.

Who Is This Programme For?

The Skills Bootcamp is completely free of charge to adults residing in the Liverpool City Region who meet eligibility criteria. You must be aged 19 or older on or before 31 August 2024 to take part, have right to work in the UK and have been a UK resident for a minimum of three years.No prior qualifications are needed.
