The British Chambers of Commerce Quarterly Economic Survey (QES) is the largest private independent survey of its kind in the UK, it looks at a wide range of issues including home and export sales and orders, employment and recruitment, cash flow, confidence and price pressures.

Local results are fed back to the BCC to formulate one of the first national indicators of the quarter. Published in advance of official figures, it consistently mirrors trends in official data and, because of this, it is closely followed by key organisations including the Treasury and the Bank of England.

The importance of the QES cannot be understated, especially over the last 14 months when it has helped us to demonstrate the short and longer-term impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on businesses, helping to inform government policy decisions.

At a Liverpool Chamber level the data gathered helps us to identify any local trends and provides us with the evidence to raise any issues on your behalf with local partners.

The QES will only take a couple of minutes to complete and is open to non-Chamber members so please feel free to share with your professional networks. The deadline to complete the survey is Monday 7 June.
