The Last Day of Summer festival drives footfall boost
The new, free Family Festival saw visitor numbers rise by 11.7%
Liverpool city centre’s footfall increased by 11.7% compared with last year as a programme of family friendly events spread across the Waterfront and Liverpool ONE.
The Last Day of Summer, held on Saturday 31 August, was organised by Liverpool BID Company, Culture Liverpool, Royal Albert Dock Liverpool and Peel. It featured a free programme of watersports, arts, craft, music, performance, yoga, DJs and more. It also included a foam display at Liverpool ONE. Spread from the Pier Head to ACC Liverpool, the family friendly event was designed to celebrate the end of the summer holidays and showcase the best of the city.
Figures from Liverpool BID Company show that Saturday saw a 11.7% boost in visitors compared with the same Saturday in 2023, with cameras picking up around 308,919 visitors. This came on the back of a week that had seen 1.65m visitors in the city centre, up 4.11% compared with the same week last year.
