Wong’s Rings in the Year of the Fire Horse with VIP Chinese New Year Celebration in Liverpool
Wong’s Jewellery celebrated the Year of the Fire Horse with an exclusive Chinese New Year event at its Liverpool showroom last night, from 5:00 to 7:00pm, welcoming VIP clients, local business leaders, and the Lord Mayor of Liverpool for an unforgettable evening of culture, community, and celebration.
The event also marked the launch of Wong’s new campaign, Take the Reins, a celebration of confidence, engagement, ambition, and the year ahead. As part of the campaign, Wong’s is highlighting the tradition of making this year one of meaningful connections and memories, including engagements and proposals.
Guests were treated to an array of experiences that blended tradition with contemporary celebration. Maggie Fu, the beloved local Chinese restaurant, provided delicious dim sum that delighted attendees throughout the evening.
Each guest received complimentary Chinese lucky bracelets crafted by the Wong’s workshop team, tokens symbolising good fortune, prosperity, and health for the year ahead. The Wong’s team also offered personalised lucky fortune cookies, adding a thoughtful and joyful touch to the celebrations.
Adding dynamic energy to the event was a martial arts demonstration and lion dance performed by Liverpool Hung Gar Kung Fu, a respected local Kung Fu club that has long been part of Liverpool’s Chinese New Year traditions. The performance brought vibrant movement, skill, and cultural heritage to the evening’s festivities.
The atmosphere was filled with warmth, excitement, and community spirit, punctuated by a number of surprises throughout the night that further engaged guests and highlighted Wong’s distinctive approach to celebration and engagement.
Reflecting on the event, Cynthia Cartwright said:
“Last night was a beautiful celebration of culture, community, and connection. We are so grateful to our guests, partners, and civic leaders for joining us to welcome the Year of the Fire Horse and to begin this year full of heart, promise, and possibility. Take the Reins is about stepping forward with confidence and purpose, whether that is in business, relationships, or life’s unforgettable moments.”
Peter Wong added:
“It was an absolute honour to host our friends and neighbours here in Liverpool. The energy of the evening, from Maggie Fu’s incredible dim sum to the inspiring performance by the Kung Fu club, embodied everything Wong’s stands for: heritage, community, and creativity.”
The gathering reinforced Wong’s commitment to celebrating tradition while creating meaningful and modern experiences for its community.
