Yellow Monday will be back to beat away the January blues
Don’t dread January! Beat the Blues with Liverpool’s annual Yellow Monday. There’s still time for city centre businesses to sign up for offers and events to brighten up a blue day. 2026’s Yellow Monday will take place on 19 January.
Organised by Liverpool’s Business Improvement District, Yellow Monday is designed to bring a little cheer and colour to brighten up Blue Monday. It’s cold, wet, and everyone is feeling a Christmas hangover. In Liverpool, however, there’s live music for commuters, a ticket giveaway with Merseyrail, coffee giveaways and more. In one of the most popular aspects of the day, bouquets of flowers are delivered to the people nominated as favourite colleagues. Businesses are invited to nominate a colleague who will have flowers delivered to their desk.
There’s still time to take part in this year’s Yellow Monday. Submit your ideas to [email protected]
Katie Bentley is Director of Strategic Partnerships and Communications at Liverpool BID Company.
“This is our third Yellow Monday and it’s become a highlight of what is traditionally a depressing month. This isn’t just about good PR, though. Mental health and wellbeing are vitally important in our city centre community. We have incorporated more activity to bring the community together, to remind people there are networks on hand who can help, and how to integrate movement and exercise into our daily routines. It’s a good way for us to set the best of intentions for 2026”.
Just some of the complimentary activities include:
– A free bouquet for a colleague (nominate below)
– Merseyrail Ticket Giveaway
– A Monday morning dip at Wyld Sauna
– Live music at Moorfields Station
– A pastry giveaway at Exchange Flags
– Free Coffee
– Yoga sessions
