What is a BID?
BIDs (Business Improvement District) are partnerships operated by local businesses (BID Levy Payers) which are intended to provide a wide range of additional services or improvements to a specified area (BID Area), over and above those funded through the standard commercial rates and council services.
Constituted by UK law in 2004, a BID is a powerful, independent voice representing the interests of a varied community of organisations, committed to working together to ensure that the area continues to progress whilst providing the best possible trading and working environment for its occupiers.

There is also an Executive BID Board that oversees, strategy for the organisation, finances, company structure and major long term decisions. BID executive board members include the chair and deputy chairs of each BID and a representation of the leadership and main stakeholders in Liverpool city centre.
