Celebrate World Rum Day this Saturday (8th July) at Liverpool’s stunning waterfront, take a look below at some of the venues marking the occasion this year

Revolucion de Cuba

A trip to the dock’s Caribbean-inspired restaurant, Revolucion de Cuba wouldn’t be complete without a rum cocktail in hand. Visitors can choose from an extensive menu that is guaranteed to satisfy every palate, including Rumtinis, Mojitos, Rum Perfect Serves and more. For those with a sweet tooth, choose a Pineapple Daquri and treat your tastebuds to Havana Club Cuban Spiced rum, pineapple, lime and sugar. With every one sold, Revolucion de Cuba also donates 10p to the mental health charity, CALM.

Titanic Hotel Liverpool

Having a long-standing relationship with the spirit, Titanic Hotel’s own Rum Warehouse was previously a storage space for rum imports from exotic locations across the globe, including Guyana, Barbados, and Cuba.

Now home to a vast selection of rum in its renowned Rum Bar, Titanic Hotel is the ideal spot to celebrate the occasion. Available from 8th-9th July, sip on a beloved Old Fashioned and enjoy a combination of Appleton 8, Angostura bitters, sugar and an orange twist.

Miller and Carter

Transporting visitors to the sunny streets of Havana, Miller and Carter at Royal Albert Dock is serving up a selection of refreshing Bacardi Mojitos, made with Bacardi Carta Blanca Rum, Mexican lime and mint, topped with soda over crushed ice. Either stick with the classic or opt for a tantalising twist with four different flavours to choose from – passionfruit, raspberry, lychee and strawberry.

The Smugglers Cove

Home to an impressive 141 different types of rum, this atmospheric eatery is a must-visit for rum lovers. Also, with a mouth-watering selection of cocktails to taste, visitors will be spoilt for choice at this pirate-inspired spot. Those after a summer staple can sip on the cove’s flavoursome Hey June, prepared by mixing Cargo Cult Spiced Rum, Bounty Coconut, Midori, pineapple and a splash of lime.

Gusto

Perfect for cooling off on a warm summer’s day, Gusto’s lip-smacking Disaronno & Coconut Sour is the ideal choice for those who love a taste of Italian-inspired fare. Made with Disaronno, Koko Kanu coconut rum, coconut syrup, lime juice, cranberry juice and orange bitters, this crips cocktail is finished with a wedge of lime for that extra citrusy hit.

The Long Shot

Located on the dock’s Britannia Pavilion, The Long Shot is the place to go for live sports, monster sandwiches and mouth-watering cocktails, with an eclectic atmosphere plus outdoor seating for those warm summer days. Fresh on its already extensive menu, The Long Shot’s Banana Daquiri is a combination of Havana 7 Year rum, banana, evaporated milk and a squeeze of lime, before being blended for a smooth finish.

Maray

Earning itself a spot on Maray’s menu, this ‘short and punchy’ cocktail is a flawless dockside dining accompaniment. While taking in the views of Royal Albert Dock, sip and savour a Paradise Found and enjoy an elegant combination of Havana 7 Year Rum, figs, green apples, honey and lime.
