YinYan Band jams give you the skills & confidence to start making joyful music as part of a friendly & welcoming collective. You don’t need any musical experience or talent – we promise you will be playing songs you love within an hour of picking up a ukulele for the very first time!
Bring an instrument or borrow one of ours – in addition to loads of great starter-ukuleles we have a triangle, maracas & more. It’s going to be fun, friendly & joyous!
We love beginners with zero experience or previous skills, don’t worry if you haven’t got a clue what you’re doing – you’ll be in good company and welcomed into our community with open arms! The people who have done our ‘ukulele crash courses’ felt 95% better afterwards – how good will you feel?!
After the ukulele crash course (5.30-6.30pm) we’ll see where the YinYan Band jam takes us with no fixed agenda…we can try tunes beyond our beginner songbook, open mic, perhaps even come up with new music – we’ve got tunes that need lyrics so poets & writers, movers & shakers welcome. And if you want to sit back and just watch you’re welcome too.
Tempest is on Tithebarn Street (opposite Bixteth Street, Liverpool), this session takes place in the ground floor lobby – to the left of the the bar/cafe, “Tempest on Tithebarn”, where you can order food & drink if you like.
YinYan’s mission is to open doors that give people the tools & confidence to improve their mental & physical wellbeing with activities proven to improve health as part of our friendly & welcoming community. We provide classes in Yoga, Pilates, Art, Music & more – we are a non-profit Community Interest Company and any money we make has to be used to help people feel good – you do not have to pay to enjoy this event but if you would like to make a donation to support what we do and help cover the cost of materials etc then you can do so at the event.
