From Thursday 4 November there will be upcoming works associated with the new automatic rising bollards recently installed as part of the works on Wood Street. These upcoming works will require two no. 1 day closures of Wood Street to vehicular traffic in order to complete the works.

In addition, there will be 1 day when a delivery vehicle will be delivering and installing new control kiosks which will require the road to be blocked for a short period of time at 2 no. locations – this will mean that access past the delivery/installation vehicle will be delayed while the installation is carried out.

The dates of the closures and partial closure will be as follows:

→ 1 Day Closure of Wood Street:

Thursday 4 November 2021 – Installation of the induction loops in the road at both ends of Wood Street. There will no vehicle access onto Wood Street after 8.30 am on this day, for the rest of the day.

Thursday 25 November 2021 – Mechanical first fix at bollard locations at both ends of Wood Street. Please advise delivery drivers that they will need to make alternative arrangements on both the above dates.

→ Managed Short-Term Closure of Wood Street:

Tuesday 30 November 2021 – Short duration closure to deliver and install control kiosks at two locations on Wood Street. During these installations the road will be blocked and traffic will experience a short delay.

Please advise delivery drivers to be prepared for delays and potential queuing in Wood Street on this date.
