Liverpool BID Company is delighted to bring a GIANT game of ‘The Elf on the Shelf®’ to Liverpool city centre this Christmas!

This December, Liverpool becomes the stage for a giant game of The Elf on the Shelf®, as a 15ft Scout Elf appears at various locations across the city centre until Christmas Eve.

Organised by Liverpool BID Company, the Scout Elf™ (aka R’ Elf) will fly through the night to iconic locations around the city centre from 1-24 December. People will be invited to seek out the Scout Elf each morning and snap a selfie as it embarks in some classic festive fun. On a Saturday morning, the Scout Elf will settle in a new spot for the weekend, before setting off to be found in a new place on Monday morning.

Daily clues will be found on Liverpool BID Company’s social media channels, but, as with tradition, no hints or announcements will be made before the Scout Elf appears.

Welcome to the most wonderful time of the year.

From sparkling lights, incredible shows, tremendous trees, crafty workshops, seasonal shopping and festive treats galore, there’s something for everyone at Christmastime in Liverpool.

For the past 5 years, Liverpool BID Company has contributed over £745,000 to the city centre’s Christmas decorations and activities during the festive period.

Since 2017, the Liverpool BID Company has been the main contributor, funded by BID Levy Payers and contributing over two-thirds of Liverpool’s overall Christmas lights, Christmas decorations, trees, and installations, having installed over 695 features in the last 5 years! This year, the BID cover 80% of the city’s lights.

Liverpool BID Company will continue to deck the streets of Liverpool not only next year, but for years to come!

Feels Like Christmas at Liverpool’s Theatres

Celebrate this festive season with a rich and magical programme of Christmas shows. From concerts with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, to the Disney’s Aladdin at the Empire, there’s a show perfect for everyone this Christmas. Make a night of it, enjoy the Christmas lights in the city centre and a festive menu before you take your seat. Each of the city centre’s major cultural organisations now sits within a Liverpool BID area, after the expansion of the Retail & Leisure BID Area to Hope Street.

Celebrate your Indies on Small Business Saturday

It’s Small Business Saturday on 7th December and Liverpool BID Company is using the day to celebrate the city’s independent and micro businesses.

A series of Arts and Craft markets to mark the day will showcase the best of the city’s Indies:

- The Art Quarter Market at Metquarter on Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1srDecember, 11am – 5pm

- The Bloom Winter Market at Mann Island on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th December, 11am – 4pm

Christmas Crafts in the Commercial District

Contemporary Christmas Craft Workshops with sustainability at their heart. A series of high-end ‘make and take’ Christmas craft workshops attracting adults looking to learn a skill and create something bespoke that can either be given as a Christmas gift or kept as a Christmas present to themselves will take place in at the Liver Building and Exchange Station over the festive season. Liverpool BID Company heavily subsidise the craft sessions, meaning workshops are well over half price.

Activities include the likes of Wreath-Making, Christmas Table Centre Decorations, Scented Candle and Melt Making, Vintage Fabric Lantern Fairy Lights, and Hand Printed Table Runners & Napkins.
