The Strand – Southbound Carriageway Overnight Surfacing Works from 26 April

The Strand – Southbound Carriageway Overnight Surfacing Works have been postponed until 17 May

Due to inclement weather in Liverpool over the past few days, GRAHAM’s have consulted with Liverpool City Council and have made the very difficult decision to postpone the remaining overnight surfacing works on the southbound carriageway of The Strand until Monday 17 May (weather dependent).

From Monday 26 April between 7pm and 6am for four weeks, The Strand works will progress and GRAHAM will be conducting road surfacing works on the southbound carriageway between Leeds Street and James Street.

The work will take place over a series of nights for four weeks. All feeder roads to The Strand will be closed during these works (including Brook Street, Queensway Tunnel Exit, Chapel Street, Water Street, Brunswick Street & James Street).

Diversion signs will be in place and the plan can be found here.

To lessen the impact on businesses and residents and in agreement with LCC Environmental Health, the works will take place Monday to Friday.  Noise is to be expected throughout, but to mitigate against the noisiest operations such as planning and breaking of the existing surface we will endeavour to complete these operations before 1am.  However please note, that the actual surface laying with paver, lorries and rollers is expected to continue throughout the night until 6am.

More details will be given when the northbound surfacing works are expected to take place.
